Lone Mountain is a true classic. First located in 1923 the story of Lone Mountain may be found in Turquoise in America Part Two 1910-1990.
This is a true gem grade piece of Lone Mountain seldom ever found on the market at any price. It weighs 4.7 carats and is 1.4cm wide by 1.5cm long. It is priced at $150 a carat or $700. This cab comes from the Wayne Nelson Collection and was most probably cut by Wayne when he worked at the mine in 1975. I have assigned a TG of 95 Gem Grade GG. It is not treated and lightly backed. This is one of the highest-grade Lone Mountain I have ever seen, a truly magnificent piece of turquoise with impeccable provenance among the rarest of all turquoise.
