Red Mountain was first located in the 1970’s and is one of the classic Nevada turquoise minesas defined by Bob Brucia. The story of Red Mountain is contained in Turquoise in America PartTwo 1910-1990. I purchased this turquoise from Kelly McGinnis the Red Mountain miner.This cab weighs 8.4 carats and is 2cm by 1.5cm. It is priced at $60 a carat or $500. It shows the characteristic colorand matrix of Red Mountain. I have assigned a TG of 92.75 or GG (Gem Grade). This stone has not been treated and is lightly backed.
