This cabochon weighs 15.1 carats and measures 2.5cm by 1cm. It is not treated and is lightly backed. It is priced at $20 a carat, $302. I have assigned a TG (turquoise grade) of 91.25 or GG, Gem Grade. This stone rivals some of the highest-grade dark web found in the US at much lower price, a true turquoise value. Rob Stapp purchased this rough in the 90’s and it represents the first stone imported from Chinese during the period covered in Chapter Five. I cut the cab myself.
