Famous Turquoise Mines. Fox.

The main claim to fame for Fox turquoise is the sheer quantity of turquoise that has come from this mine over a very long period. We cover this history in Turquoise in America Part Two 1910-1990. Fox turquoise is known more for quantity than quality and the highest grade of Fox turquoise does match that of many other famous Nevada turquoise mines. Much of the production from Fox was treated especially after treatment was introduced in the 1960's. Fox is known primarily because it was plentiful, cheap and found its way in to much Indian jewelry. In this video Mike tells a bit of the history and we see some examples of Fox turquoise.
