Famous Turquoise Mines of Colorado

During the early period of turquoise mining covered in Turquoise in America Part One The Great American Turquoise Rush 1890-1910, New Mexico and Arizona were the top producers. This changed in 1916 when Nevada became the largest with Colorado second. This continued until turquoise from the Arizona copper mines made Arizona number one by the 60s which has continued to the present even though only Kingman remains in production.In this video Mike talks about the famous turquoise mines of Colorado, King Manassa and Villa Grove and we see some beautiful examples from those mines.
