Grades of Treatment

In the last of three videos about Buying Turquoise we see how treatment determines different grades of treated turquoise. As much or more than 80% of all turquoise mined requires some form of treatment before it may be used in commercial jewelry. The natural market is small in comparison with about 15% mid to high mid grade and only 5% high grade. The illusive gem grade is less than 0.1% of all turquoise making it among the most rare of all gems. In this video Mike explains the different forms of treatment and how this affects both grade and price.
