Candelaria VHG from the Callais Collection
 
Candelaria is one of the classic turquoise mines of Nevada. The history is found in Turquoise in America Part Two, 1910-1990.
 
The cabochon weighs 4.5 carats and measures 1.5cm X 0.75cm. It is not treated and backed. It is priced at $100 a carat or $450. Red web Candelaria is very rare. I cut this cab from rough I purchased from Bob Brucia.
