Damele is located in Lander County Nevada near Austin. Although identified as a turquoise mine some specimens are entirely turquoise and some are composed of all variscite with minor chalcosiderite. A few are even an equal mixture of variscite and chalcosiderite. The history of Damele is found in Turquoise in America Part Two,1910-1990.
 
This cab weighs 21.4 carat and measures 2.75cm X 2cm. It is priced at $10 a carat or $214. It is most probably chalcosiderite. It is not treated and not backed. The stone is from the Callais Collection.
