Damele is located in Lander County Nevada near Austin. Although identified as a turquoise mine some specimens are entirely turquoise and some are composed of all variscite with minor chalcosiderite. A few are even an equal mixture of variscite and chalcosiderite. The history of Damele is found in Turquoise in America Part Two,1910-1990.
 
This cab weighs 4.5 carat and measures 1cm. It is priced at $30 a carat or $135. It has tested as turquoise. It is not treated and is backed. I have assigned a TG of 80 or HG. HG spiderweb from Damele is rare. The stone is from the Callais Collection.
