Damele is located in Lander County Nevada near Austin. Although identified as a turquoise mine some specimens are entirely turquoise and some are composed of all variscite with minor chalcosiderite. A few are even an equal mixture of variscite and chalcosiderite. The history of Damele is found in Turquoise in America Part Two,1910-1990.
 
This cab weighs 10.2 carat and measures 1.5cm X 1cm X 7mm. It is priced at $15 a carat or $153. It has tested as variscite. It is not treated and not backed. The stone is from the Callais Collection.
