Fox is an historic turquoise mine in Crescent Valley Lander County Nevada. It has also been known as Smith and White Horse. It is believed to have produced more turquoise than all of the other Nevada mines combined. The story is found in Turquoise in America Part Two, 1910-1990.
This pair of cabs weighs 16.5 carat and each measure about 2cm X 1cm. They are priced at $12 a carat or $198. They are not treated and not backed. I have assigned a TG of 80 or HG. While Fox has had large output much has been treated and there has been little high grade. I purchased these from Greg King who cut the stones.
