Fox is an historic turquoise mine in Crescent Valley Lander County Nevada. It has also been known as Smith and White Horse. It is believed to have produced more turquoise than all of the other Nevada mines combined. The story is found in Turquoise in America Part Two, 1910-1990.
This cab weighs 45.3 carat and measures 3.75cm X 2.5cm. It is priced at $20 a carat or $906. It is not treated and is backed. I have assigned a TG of 85 or VHG. While Fox has had large output much has been treated and there has been little high grade. I purchased these from Duane Cooley at Little Blue Bird Gallery in Austin Nevada.
