Lander Blue is an iconic turquoise mine in Lander County Nevada. It is the most expensive of all turquoise. The story is found in Turquoise in America Part Two, 1910-1990.

 

This cabochon weighs 28.6 carat and measures 3cm X 2cm X 8mm. It is priced at $400 a carat or $11,440. It is not treated and is backed. It has been tested by Neil Ray at West Texas Analytical Lab as Lander Blue and assigned a TG of 86 or VHG. The stone came from a bracelet purchased by Tony Manzini at a yard sale in Carson City Nevada. Large Lander Blue. with sound provenance, is becoming more rare.White spot is camera flash.
