Nishabuor is the oldest continuously mined turquoise mine in the world. Persian turquoise was the first to be mined as early as 7000 BC.
 
This cabochon weighs 13.6 carats and measures 2cm X 1cm X 7mm. It is not treated and unbacked. It is priced at $40 a carat or $544. I have assigned a TG of 76 or HMG.. I purchased this stone from Shahriyar Zamansani. White spot is camera flash.
