Nisgabuor is the oldest continuously mined turquoise mine in the world. Persian turquoise was the first to be mined as early as 7000 BC.
This pair of cabochons weigh 13.3 carats of the highest-grade Shajari Nishabur turquoise. Each measure about 1.5cm X 0.75cm X 5mm. They are not treated and unbacked. The pair is priced at $80 a carat or $1064. I have assigned a TG of 91 or GG. This grade of Persian Shajari matrix has become very rare and more difficult to source. I purchased these stones from Shahriyar Zamansani. White spot is camera flash.
