Pilot Mountain is the marketing name for turquoise from many claims located in the Pilot Mountains of Nevada. The story of the early claims is found in Turquoise in America Part Two,1910-1990 and later claims in Part Three.
 
This cab weighs 15.3 carat and measures 2.5cm X 1.5cm X 5mm. It is priced at $100 a carat or $1530. It is not treated and is backed. I have assigned a TG of 94 or GG. Pilot Mountain of this grade is very rare and seldom comes to market. I purchased this stone from Bob Brucia of the NevadaGem Collection.
