Pilot Mountain is a famous turquoise mine of Nevada. The history is told in Turquoise in America Part Three, 1990-2020.
 
This cabochon weighs 7.8 carats and measures 1.5cm X 1cm. It is priced at $100 a carat or $780. It is not treated and backed. I have assigned a TG of 95 or GG. This stone is the highest grade of Pilot Mountain ever mined and is very rare. I purchased the stone from Bob Brucia who bought from the miner, Monte Anderson.
