Red Mountain is a turquoise mine located in the Carico Lake Valley of Lander County Nevada. The story of the claim is told in Turquoise in America Part Two, 1910-1990.
 
This cab weighs 23.7 carat and measures 4cm X 2cm X 3mm. It is priced at $100 a carat or $2370. It is not treated and thinly backed. I have assigned a TG of 94 or GG. Turquoise of this grade from Red Mountain is very rare and seldom comes to market. I purchased this stone from Bob Brucia of the NevadaGem Collection.
