This gentleman just explained why you need a guide to help you navigate your way through a turquoise purchase. I've purchased from galleries, dealers, and a jewelry artist/lapidary. A lot of this becomes common sense with experience. But always, always, "caveat emptor". It is your responsibility to ask questions. And by all means, get a written statement of authenticity!
